HELP! My font book isn't working?

I've been trying to install new fonts but unfortunately every time I try to install a font or open my font book it freezes. I even tried to be patient and waited for an hour but it still wouldn't load. It kept saying, "no fronts installed" (even though there were) and the mouse was left on the loading icon. I don't know if it's because of the amount of fonts that I have or if it's because the system is bugged.
